Attorney Nathan Bax<\/a> was featured in the SC Lawyers Weekly Newspaper for his recent health insurance victory.\u00a0 This case involves the wrongful denial of medically necessary treatment for a rare neurological condition, Guillian-Barre Syndrome (hereinafter \u201cGBS\u201d).\u00a0 The health insurance company, BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois, denied Mr. Bax\u2019s client\u2019s health insurance benefits, claiming that her medically prescribed intravenous globulin therapy (hereinafter \u201cIVG\u201d) was not medically necessary under the terms of the plan.\u00a0 Mr. Bax successfully argued that BCBS of Illinois abused its discretionary authority in denying these benefits.\u00a0 The Court found that BCBS of Illinois misapplied the terms of the plan and that the treatment was medically necessary.\u00a0 The full article is found below.<\/p>\n
